I earned my B.A. in Psychology at California State University, Sacramento in 1995. I then earned my M.Ed with a concentration in Special Education at Chaminade University of Honolulu. My education included studying various disabilities and the various strategies, programs, interventions, and supports used to teach all learners.

Experience

I have 14 years of experience teaching grades K-12 in the public, non-public, and charter school sectors. I am a credentialed education specialist, and I teach special education students with learning disabilities as well as other disabilities, including ADHD and autism. I am trained in using reading, writing, and math intervention programs. I also am trained in administering a informal and formal academic achievement assessments.

Hobbies

I am a mother of 5 children, ages 8, 12, 15, 17, and 20. Outside of my teaching career, I received much of my teaching experience being a parent to my own children. I like to play piano, knit, and spend time with my family in my spare time. I also like to eat, travel, and learn new things like playing a new instrument or learning how to make things out of wood.
